Lethbridge’s boating advisory has been lifted by Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services, due to improved conditions on the Oldman River.
According to the City of Lethbridge, river flow rates have decreased, and conditions have improved.
“However, reduced visibility in the water remains a concern and water temperatures are still cold. Residents may resume normal activities on and around the river, but are reminded to use caution and be prepared before entering the water,” the City noted.
All watercraft users must wear a properly fitted lifejacket or personal flotation device, carry the required safety equipment, and avoid alcohol or other intoxicants while on Lethbridge waterways.
River conditions can change quickly. Anyone planning to float, paddle or boat should check current river conditions before heading out at rivers.alberta.ca.
