Lethbridge man celebrates big lotto win

A Lethbridge man is $100,000 richer after a lottery win.

Shaimus Tolman won the March 14 WESTERN 649 and EXTRA draw but did not check his ticket for a while.

“I was in bed sleeping and randomly thought about checking my tickets,” Tolman said.

“I went to the [Lotto Spot] app and checked them. I was half asleep and thought it said $10! I screenshotted it and sent it to my friend to double-check and she insisted we take it to the store to be certain it was truly a $100,000 win. It was!”

Tolman is now weighing his options on what to do with his winnings.

“I might get a dog,” he said.

“I’m still thinking of what to do with it but right now it feels like a rush!”

Tolman bought his winning ticket from a gas station in Medicine Hat and won his prize by matching the last six digits in the March 14 draw.
