Downtown Lethbridge Farmers’ Market season kicks off Wednesday

Festival Square is coming alive for the summer season, with the return of the Downtown Lethbridge Farmers’ Market.

The first market is set for Wednesday, July 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event is co-produced by Excite Lethbridge and the Downtown Lethbridge BRZ and presented by 94.1 CJOC.

“The Downtown Lethbridge Farmers’ market is a tremendous partnership with the Downtown BRZ that brings the market into the heart of our city,” said Paul Kingsmith, Director of Event Development, Excite Lethbridge. “We are seeing increased registrations from vendors, and we know it will be a great season.”

The Lethbridge market is an Alberta-approved Farmers’ Market, which means at least 80 per cent of available items are made, baked, or grown in the province.

“The Downtown Farmers’ Market is more than a place to shop! It’s a place where our community comes together and each market day brings an unbeatable energy to downtown as visitors connect with local vendors and businesses,” stated Sarah Amies, Executive Director, Downtown Lethbridge BRZ.

“We’re excited to welcome everyone back for another fantastic season.”

The Downtown Lethbridge Farmers’ Market is free to attend and will run weekly on Wednesdays from July 8 to Aug. 26. More information is available on the market website.
