Taber accepting applications for Community Vibrancy Grant Program

The Town of Taber has opened applications for funding through the Community Vibrancy Grant Program.

The initiative offers an opportunity for eligible community groups, societies, non-profits and registered charities to apply for funds to help with projects, events and developmental operating expenses that benefit the town.

“Community organizations play an important role in making Taber a vibrant and welcoming place to live. Whether they’re organizing events, delivering services, supporting residents, or creating opportunities for people to connect, these groups help strengthen our community every day,” said Mayor Andrew Prokop. “We encourage eligible organizations to apply and share their ideas with Council as we plan for 2027.”

Officials said funding requests will be considered by Town Council during its 2027 budget process, alongside other municipal funding priorities.

To be eligible for funding, applicants must:

  • Be a community group, society, non-profit organization, or registered charity;
  • Belocated in the Town of Taber and serve Town of Taber residents; and
  • Demonstratehow the requested funding will benefit the community.

Applications for consideration in the 2027 budget must be in by 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 7, 2026.

“The Community Vibrancy Grant Program creates a clear and transparent process for organizations to bring funding requests forward for Council’s consideration,” said Troy Shewchuk, Director of Corporate Services. “By incorporating these applications into the annual budget process, Council can consider community priorities alongside other municipal funding needs and make informed decisions that maximize value for residents.”

Application forms and further details are available on the Town of Taber website.
