Environment challenge ‘Verdant Quest’ wraps up this week

There are just a few days left for the environmental initiative ‘Verdant Quest’.

The program is comprised of four challenges that promote responsible care for the environment. The annual Coulee Cleanup, which ran between April 22 and May 31, is one of the challenges included in ‘Verdant Quest’.

Other challenges revolve around shoreline cleanup, picking up discarded cigarettes in local parks, and helping remove invasive plants, among other activities.

Participants have until July 31 to complete all four challenges.

Those who successfully do so will get a limited-edition sticker and be entered to win one of the prizes listed below:

The grand prize is a new trash picker emblazoned with the winner’s name.

“We’ve got some fabulous local business prizes, as well as the grand prize, which is a luxury, $70 trash picker,” said Chelsea Sherbut, resource development coordinator at the Helen Schuler Nature Centre.

More details about ‘Verdant Quest’ are available on the Helen Schuler Nature Centre website. The environmental quest was launched in Lethbridge in 2025.
