Drivers advised of temporary four-way stop at downtown intersection

Drivers are advised of a new temporary four-way stop in downtown Lethbridge.

Officials said to accommodate traffic signal upgrades, the intersection at Scenic Drive South and 4 Avenue South will feature the temporary stop.

The change will be in place Wednesday, Aug. 5 and Thursday, Aug. 6.

Officials noted that work will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both days, and temporary traffic control will be in place. The traffic lights will run normally overnight.

The City said that on Wednesday, northbound Scenic Drive will be closed at 4 Avenue South, and then on Thursday, southbound Scenic Drive will be closed at 4 Avenue South.

Motorists are asked to follow all posted signs and slow down near the intersection.

The work is part of the Scenic Drive interchange project, which is scheduled to be completed in November.
