Lethbridge Police to host fourth annual Trunk or Treat event

The Lethbridge Police Service will host its fourth annual Trunk or Treat event for local families on Halloween night.

The free event will run from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31. Uniformed officers and civilian staff will volunteer their time to decorate police vehicles and hand out treats to children.

The event will take place at three locations across the city: the boat launch parking lot at Nicholas Sheran Park along McMaster Boulevard West, the green space behind Logan Boulet Arena at 1302 9 Avenue North and the Nikka Yuko RV parking lot along Mayor Magrath Drive South.

Staff Sergeant Jim Demone said this is his first year being involved in Trunk or Treat, and he is looking forward to seeing firsthand why the event has become such a favourite among LPS officers.

“We love meeting children and their families, especially when they’re excited to show off their costumes and fill their treat bags. It’s just a great opportunity to connect with the community,” Demone said.

The event is designed for families with younger children, but all youth are welcome to attend.
