Avoiding tricks: Parents advised to check for dangerous items in Halloween candies

Halloween was a night of fun for young goblins and ghouls across the province, but the RCMP is advising parents to check their kids’ candy treats to avoid any nasty tricks.

Mounties in Blackfalds issued a warning after a needle was found in candy following Saturday’s trick or treating.

Police said that thankfully, the parents found the needle while doing a check of the collected candy, helping avoid any injuries.

Parents are advised that if they have yet to do so, inspect your children’s candy and chocolates to avoid any tainted treats or dangerous items in their collection.
