Okotoks town council approves urban tiny home village

Canada’s first urban tiny home community has just been approved and it’s in southern Alberta.
At its regular meeting on Monday, Okotoks Town Council gave the go-ahead for the next step of the Homestead Project which includes about 3.5 acres of community green space and a public-private partnership for an ecovillage.
The first phase of the project, to be completed by 2021, includes 42 units ranging in size from 350 to 550 square feet.
Solar panels and gardens will also be part of the tiny home village within Okotoks.
The entire 10 acre parcel is expected to be developed over the next decade.
More details on the Homestead Project can be found on the Town of Okotoks website.
