Community BBQ set to kick off 2020 Alberta Summer Games in Lethbridge

Organizers here in Lethbridge are already gearing up for the 2020 Alberta Summer Games.
With just over a year to go, the focus is on fundraising and finding volunteers but also building community excitement.
In an effort to do that, the Lethbridge 2020 Alberta Summer Games Society is hosting a free BBQ from noon to 1pm on Wednesday, June 19th. It’ll take place at the Bowman Arts Centre which is serving as headquarters for the games.
Manager of the local games society, Steve Dudas, says the community is in for a treat next summer, adding Lethbridge has a proud history of rising to the occasion for big events and providing an unforgettable experience for participants.
Around 2,800 athletes between the ages of 11 and 17 will be heading to Lethbridge for the games next July 23-26.
Events will be hosted at several venues throughout the city.
