Violent offender, released from federal prison, will reside in Lethbridge area

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Police say a convicted violent offender has been released from prison and is set to reside in the area.

42 year old Jeremy John Emmelkamp recently completed a four year sentence at Mountain Federal Institution east of Vancouver.

He was serving time for assault and uttering threats.

Emmelkamp has a history of violent offences against those he is domestically involved with and police believe he is a high-risk to re-offend.

The LPS also says this warning is for public awareness and is not meant to encourage any form of vigilante action.

Emmelkamp will be subject to multiple monitoring conditions.
