Active COVID cases in Lethbridge rising

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The number of active COVID-19 cases in Lethbridge continues to rise.

There were 21 new cases confirmed on March 4 out of 26 total new cases in the South Zone.

With recoveries factored in, that’s pushed the active case count to 239.

Previously, Lethbridge topped out at 259 active cases on Dec.7 during the height of the second wave.

According to Alberta Health Services, there are currently six outbreaks in Lethbridge:

Acute care facilities
Chinook Regional Hospital

Supportive living/home living sites
Edith Cavell Care Centre, Lethbridge
Quest Support group home, Lethbridge
The View at Lethbridge

Other facilities and settings
Haul All Equipment, Lethbridge
Lethbridge Alpha House

There were 411 new cases province-wide out of 10,559 tests for a provincial positivity rate of 3.9 percent.
