Taber woman wins $1 million in June 15 LOTTO MAX draw

TABER, AB – Julia Wurtz is a million dollars richer thanks to her mother!

The Taber woman won the big prize on the June 15th LOTTO MAX Draw. She says her mom told her she should go buy a ticket, so that’s exactly what she did!

Wurtz bought the winning ticket at Johnson Drugs in Taber and when she scanned it a few days later at the same store, she says she couldn’t believe it!

“I was joking about winning a lot of money and it actually happened, I won a million dollars! I called my mom to tell her and she didn’t believe me,” Wurtz laughed. “I don’t think she’ll ever stop saying: I told you so!’”

Wurtz plans to take some time to decide what she wants to do with her $1 million prize, but says making sure her kids are financially secure in the future is one thing as well as possibly buying a new car.

Her winning ticket matched all seven numbers on the June 15th draw.
