Lethbridge hosting first Indian National Finals Rodeo qualifier

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Exciting rodeo action over at the Rocky Mountain Turf Club (RMTC) this weekend will be a qualifying event for the Indian National Finals Rodeo (INFR).

The Blood Tribe Ag Society is hosting 16 events at the RMTC on Saturday (Aug. 7) and Sunday (Aug. 8). The winner of each event will move on to the INFR that’s happening in Vegas from Oct. 19 to Oct. 23.

Wayna Beebe with the Blood Tribe Ag Society says this rodeo will feature everything from timed events to bull riding, attracting competitors from across North America. “We attract individuals all the way from Florida to participate in these tour rodeos. We’re on the edge of our seats to make sure that they get across the border to come and compete with us.”

Show time is 6:00 p.m. on Saturday (Aug. 7) and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday (Aug. 8).

Beebe adds that if all goes as planned and enough people come out to watch, the Ag Society would be thrilled to host more INFR sanctioned events in the future.

I started my radio career in 2015, shortly after graduating from Lethbridge College. I have a very strong passion for local news. Proudly born in 1994, I grew up most of my life in Sylvan Lake, AB and I've lived in the Lethbridge since 2012. I'm a below average golfer on a good day, I take as many hiking trips to Waterton as possible in the summer and I love my two cats, Outlaw and Jynx, and my dog, Maverick, more than most people I know. I look forward to providing accurate, timely news coverage in southern Alberta for plenty of years to come!
