LETHBRIDGE, AB – All animal welfare organizations in Lethbridge are at capacity right now.
That, from the Manager of the Lethbridge and District Humane Society, Barb Grodzicky, who says there’s no space left for any other animals in need.
She says pets adopted after the first four months of the COVID-19 pandemic are now being abandoned and it’s causing big problems.
Grodzicky says there are a few things you can do to help ease the burden.
First and foremost, she says spay and neuter your pets and make sure you can keep a pet for life if you do decide to adopt one.
Donations are also always welcome as fundraising events have been limited due to the pandemic.
Grodzicky notes that in her 18 years with the Humane Society, they’ve always been at 95-percent capacity or more but COVID has certainly been a factor in this current situation.
