This coming Mother’s Day, to honour the memories of loved ones, the city’s Parks & Cemeteries team will be offering a free rose to visitors.
The tradition first began in 2018, then again in 2019, on both Mother’s and Father’s day. In 2020 and 2021, the initiative was unable to be carried out due to distancing and other restrictions.
Roses will be available to the first 250 visitors, and can be picked up beside the Mountain View Cemetery office located at 1210 Scenic Drive South, on Sunday, May 8, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until they are gone.
Cemetery staff will also be offering flowers for Father’s Day this year on Sunday, June 19.
