The Interfaith Food Bank marking a milestone as it celebrates its 30th anniversary this week.
The organization was founded back in 1989 by Our Lady of Assumption Church which then grew to become Catholic Charities Food Bank and eventually the Interfaith Food Bank.
An open house was held earlier this week with Executive Director Danielle McIntyre saying there’s been so much progress over the past three decades but really what’s most important is the number of lives that have been touched by the community effort that’s gone into helping those in need.
McIntyre says goals for the coming years include empowering people to move past the food bank line-up by expanding community partnerships and offering more outreach programs.
