Albertans will head to the polls on May 29th for provincial election

The 31st Alberta Provincial General Election was confirmed Monday morning, with Albertans slated to hit the polls on May 29th. Voters can confirm their registration to vote online until May 17th or in person until May 20th. Advanced voting will start on May 23rd across the province and run until May 27th. On May 29th, voting locations will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Alberta’s Chief Electoral Officer Glen Resler saying in a press release the writs have been issued for across the province.

“We are excited to welcome Albertans back to the polls this month,” Resler says. “Returning Officers have been appointed, and we are in the process of recruiting and training nearly 20,000 Election Officers to conduct voting in the 87 electoral divisions across the province.”

Residents who are 18 years old or older and live in the province on May 29th are eligible to vote
