Street Machine weekend cruising into view

The biggest car weekend in southern Alberta is hitting the streets this upcoming weekend, July 14th to 16th.

Street Machine Weekend, an event for the Street Wheelers Club, has been happening for more than 40 years in Lethbridge and features classic cars and newer models from all over.

This year, there’s no official Street Wheelers Club events on Friday, July 14th, but if residents are along Mayor Mcgrath Drive they’ll be able to see some of the cars drive up and down the street.

On Saturday, July 15th, there are the 100 foot drags at Exhibition Park that include six different classes including Class 100 New Street, Class 200 True Street, Class 300 Real Street, Class 400 Quick Street, Class 500 Super Street and Class 600 Pro Street.

Gates for the drags open at 9 a.m. and the fee is $10 per person with children 13-years-old and under free.

Sunday, July 16th, will be the show and shine at Galt Gardens with the awards happening at 3 p.m.

Anyone looking to take part in the drags on Saturday or take part in the show and shine on Sunday, can find registration information on the Street Wheelers website.
