Police investigate circumstances surrounding body found at McDonalds

Lethbridge police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a body found inside a storage shed at a westside McDonalds.

Police responded to a report that workers from a restoration company found the man’s body inside the shed at the restaurant along the 500 block of University Drive on July 14 around 12:30 p.m.

“The shed was previously damaged in a fire on July 3 and the workers had attended to provide remediation services,” reads a news release from the Lethbridge Police Service. “The body has been transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Calgary for an autopsy to determine identity and cause of death.”

Police have not said if the circumstances around the death are suspicious and say no further information will be released until the autopsy has been completed.
