Community Foundation supports projects with more than $300K in grants

Grants totaling more than $300,000 from the Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta will support 32 projects in the region.

The organization announced recipients of two grants with a total of $336,050 being awarded.

The Community Priorities Fund makes up $229,900 of the awards and will go to 26 different organizations. The money comes from private donations and The Lethbridge Auto Dealers Association (LADA) provided an additional $14,650 to 17 of the projects.

The Henry S. Varley Fund For Rural Life will provide $91,500 to six projects.

“These grants essentially mark the end of our granting season for 2023,” said Charleen Davidson, Community Foundation executive director. “Thanks to the continued generosity of our donors, we were able to support the community of southwestern Alberta with over $1.5 million this year. We thank everyone who contributes to our success and we acknowledge all of the many diverse groups that receive these grants. We are proud to be able to support the projects that help build a strong, healthy community.”

The Community Foundation team will hand deliver the grants to recipients between Dec. 11 and 15.
