Lethbridge city hall hours to change in the new year

In the new year, Lethbridge residents looking to access services at city hall will notice a time change. According to the City of Lethbridge, as of Tuesday, January 2nd, city hall hours will change from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

According to the city, the change is because last year, very few people came in between 8 a.m. and 8:30 am, equaling 1.4 per cent of “in-person customer service interactions.” However, during the last two weeks of June, hours will be extended back to 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to accommodate those who go to city hall for tax season.

According to the city, city staff will continue to work the same number of hours as they do now but will use the extra time for administrative tasks, staff meetings, training, etc.

Hours for virtual and telephone 311 customer service are not changing, and residents are reminded they can still access the self-serve option on the city’s website 24 hours a day.
