Drivers are reminded to slow down, obey signs, watch for pedestrians and use caution when passing clean-up crews Saturday, as volunteer groups will be cleaning up trash along provincial highways during the annual Alberta highway cleanup.
Between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. this Saturday volunteers in orange safety vests will be collecting trash along provincial highways.
“Join us in keeping Alberta’s highways clean and safe for everyone. Together, we can make a difference in our communities,” says Devin Dreeshen, Alberta minister of Transportation and Economic Corridors.
Volunteers from 4-H clubs, Scouts, Girl Guides, schools, church organizations, Rotary clubs, sports teams and other non-profit organizations will participate in the cleanup event.
