UPDATE: Severe thunderstorm warning ended for Taber, Barnwell

UPDATE: As of 6:25 p.m. Thursday, the thunderstorm warning for the region was cancelled. According to Environment Canada, the thunderstorms that were being monitored had “weakened or moved out of the region.”

As of Thursday evening, officials say a line of severe thunderstorms that could produce heavy rains, strong winds and up to “nickel size” hail could roll through the region.

Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. If you see threatening weather approaching, you are advised to take cover immediately and avoid driving through water on roads.
