Six Lethbridge Hurricanes attending NHL Development Camps

Six members of the Lethbridge Hurricanes 2023-2024 roster are set to attend National Hockey League (NHL) Development Camps. 

These include Joe Arntsen, Noah Chadwick, Brayden Edwards, Landen Ward and recent NHL draftees Harrison Meneghin and Miguel Marques.  

Joe Arntsen, 21, will attend the Vancouver Canucks camp. Following the Hurricanes season, he signed an American Hockey League (AHL) contract for the 2024-2025 campaign with the Abbotsford Canucks. Arntsen finished his Western Hockey League (WHL) career with 106 points (27 goals, 79 assists) through 268 regular season games with Lethbridge. He also served as captain of the team, being only one of two players in Hurricanes history to serve in the role for three seasons. Arntsen finished his WHL career 10th in team history for games played and defenseman scoring. 

Noah Chadwick is attending the Toronto Maple Leafs camp. He was drafted by the club in the sixth-round, 185th overall, in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. In December 2023, he signed a three-year entry-level contract with Toronto. In his Hurricanes career, the 19-year-old appeared in 146 regular season games, scoring 19 goals and notching 60 assists. During the 2023-2024 season, Chadwick set a career-high of 56 points (12 goals, 44 assists). He was also named the winner of the WHL and Canadian Hockey League (CHL) Scholastic Player of the Year Award and a Central Division Second Team All-Star. 

Brayden Edwards has been invited to attend the Detroit Red Wings camp. The 19-year-old finished this past season with a career-high in goals, assists and points. He finished second in Hurricanes scoring, wracking up 70 points (31 goals, 39 assists). He led the team in goals, becoming Lethbridge’s first 30-goal scorer since 2021-2022. Edwards has appeared in 182 regular season games, collecting 125 points (51 goals, 74 assists). 

Landen Ward is set to attend the Ottawa Senators camp. This will be Ward’s first NHL camp, after finishing the 2023-2024 season on the NHL Central Scouting Final Rankings. He ended his rookie season with eight points (three goals, five assists) through 63 regular season games. The 18-year-old was named the Carl Trentini Memorial Award recipient as Hurricanes Rookie of the Year. 

Harrison Meneghin will attend the Tampa Bay Lightning camp. He was drafted by Tampa Bay in the seventh-round (206th overall) in the 2024 draft. The goaltender finished the 2023-2024 regular season with a record of 27-20-5-0, securing a 2.59 goals against average and a .919 save percentage, along with three shutouts. For his efforts, he was named a Central Division First-Team All-Star. Meneghin has played in 90 career games with Lethbridge, posting an overall record of 46-32-7-2 with a 2.72 goals against average and a .913 save percentage. He was named the 2023-2024 Central Division Goaltender of the Year. 

Miguel Marques will be participating in the Nashville Predators camp after being selected by the team in the third-round (87th overall) during the recent 2024 NHL Entry Draft. The 18-year-old finished the 2023-2024 regular season leading Lethbridge in scoring with 74 points (28 goals, 46 assists). In his WHL career, he has skated in 136 regular season games, totaling 100 points (38 goals, 62 assists). He is the first Hurricanes player ever selected by Nashville in the draft.
