During this week’s Alberta Municipalities conference city leaders plan to advocate for infrastructure in the area.
Expansion of Lethbridge water and wastewater treatment infrastructure, a Highway 3 bridge and interchange improvements are among the top infrastructure priorities for Mayor Blaine Hyggen, Councillors Belinda Crowson, John Middleton-Hope, Jenn Schimdt-Rempel and Lethbridge City Manager Lloyd Brierley to advocate for at the conference. A well the four municipal leaders will be emphasizing collaboration for physician recruitment in the area.
According the the Lethbridge mayor the conference is a chance to meet with Provincial Ministers and advocate for the support that will best serve Lethbridge residents.
“We will be very clear in our objectives related to our needs involving water and wastewater treatment infrastructure, Highway 3 bridge improvements and continued physician recruitment,” Hyggen says.
Lethbridge’s city manager says there is a coordinated and strategic approach that city councillors and administrators had going into the three days.
“This convention is an excellent connection point to help move our community priorities forward,” Brierley says.
ABMunis starts Wednesday in Red Deer and is scheduled to wrap up Friday.
