RCMP seize drugs, nunchucks during traffic stop

A traffic stop in Brocket resulted in RCMP officers seizing a significant amount of fentanyl, and meth along with a pair of nunchucks.

According to RCMP officials, on Monday morning a member of the Piikani Nation RCMP pulled the vehicle over for a traffic stop. While running the driver’s license the database results showed the man had a suspended license. Additionally, the driver is reportedly breaking the conditions of a release order to have no contact with a passenger in the vehicle.

Police found a half ounce of what they suspect to be fentanyl and 3.6 grams of what they suspect to be meth. According to police, the majority of the fentanyl seized was shaped like puzzle pieces, which officials say is concerning because the drug could be mistaken as a toy or candy. Along with the drugs police also found a pair of nunchucks, a prohibited weapon in Canada.

Forty-four-year-old Garon Plaited Hair is facing nine different charges connected to weapons, drugs and disobeying a court order.
