Office of Lethbridge MP Rachael Thomas awarding King Charles III Coronation Medals 

Rachael Thomas has opened nominations for the King Charles III Coronation Medal.  

The Lethbridge MP says her office is awarding 20 medals to residents in the city or Lethbridge County who have made a major impact in the community or abroad. 

The medal was created in recognition of the coronation of King Charles III on May 6, 2023. It is the first Canadian medal to mark a coronation, with the medal program administered by the Chancellery of Honours, as part of the Office of the Secretary to the Governor General. 

To be eligible for the medal, a person must: 

  • Have made a significant contribution to Canada or to a particular province, territory, region of, or community in, Canada, or achieved an outstanding achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada. 
  • Have been alive on the date of King Charles III’s coronation: May 6, 2023. 
  • Be a resident of the City of Lethbridge or Lethbridge County. 

The nomination deadline is Thursday, October 31 and nominations can be made online.
