Red Deer’s Easton Daneault signed by Lethbridge Hurricanes 

The Lethbridge Hurricanes have signed a forward to a Western Hockey League Scholarship and Development Agreement.  

Easton Daneault, 16, was drafted by the Hurricanes 146th in the seventh round of the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft. Originally from Red Deer, Daneault has skated in 25 regular season games this year with the Drumheller Dragons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League, having collected 22 points (nine goals, 13 assists), along with 22 penalty minutes. 

He is third in team scoring for the Dragons and is third in goals. 

Daneault sits fourth in AJHL rookie scoring and is second in rookie goals. He is first in all offensive categories among 16-year-olds in the league.  

During the 2023-24 campaign with the Red Deer Chiefs U18 team, he scored seven goals and had 20 assists, along with 16 penalty minutes in 32 regular season contests. In five playoff games, he had two goals. In his draft year, Daneault had 71 points (29 goals, 42 assists) in 34 regular season games with the Red Deer Rebels U15 team. In five post-season games, he dished out seven assists.  

The 16-year-old has committed to the NCAA’s Merrimack College for the 2026-27 season.
