Activities galore kick-off 2025 at the Lethbridge Public Library

In 2025, the Lethbridge Public Library has plenty of activities for everyone.

The Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour returns to Lethbridge at the Yates Theatre from January 9-11. The festival is one of the largest and most prestigious mountain festivals in the world. From the over 400 entries submitted into the festival each year, award-winning films and audience favourites are carefully selected to travel the globe. This year’s tour will feature a collection of the most inspiring action, environmental and adventure films. Travelling to stunning landscapes and remote vistas, the 2024/2025 World Tour is an exhilarating and provocative exploration of the mountain world. The festival begins at 7 p.m. each evening.

Drop-in beading classes, hosted by Indigenous Services, runs Jan. 13, 20 and 27 at 6 p.m. at the Main Branch. Sessions will progress through learning how to make earrings, designed decals and finally how to bead graduation caps.

Don’t miss the Teddy Bear Sleepover Jan 18 at 4 p.m. at the Main Branch. Bring a stuffie to the library for pajama story time, then say goodnight to your stuffed friend before they spend the night. Pick them up the next day and see all of the adventures they had. Registration required at lethlib.ca/events.

Information sessions on general federal elections will be held at the Main Branch Jan. 24 at 1 p.m. There will be two back-to-back information sessions. Attendance at one session is not required for participants to attend the other. Registration is not required, but is encouraged.

Voting in General Federal Elections is an overview of the programs and tools in place to reduce barriers to registering and voting. The session starts at 1 p.m. Working at the Polls in General Elections offers participants information to feel confident applying to work at the polls during a federal election. The session starts at 2 p.m.
