On Feb. 7, MyCityCare and the Tim Tebow Foundation will be rolling out the red carpet for individuals with special needs in the community at “Night to Shine.”
“We celebrate the uniqueness, value and amazingness they bring to our community,” says MyCityCare Program Coordinator Tanya Lister.
Celebrating its seventh year, “Night to Shine” is a magical prom night experience for individuals with special needs aged 14 and older.
The sold-out event will feature crowns and tiaras, dancing, food and other activities to ensure a memorable experience, including a photo booth and a gift bag of treats and goodies.
“It’s just a really fun time,” Lister adds. And volunteers are still needed for the event.
This year, “Night to Shine” is at full capacity in Lethbridge with just under 300 individuals, family members and/or support staff. “Which was pretty similar to last year. This year, the event filled up in just under a week.”
Other “Night to Shine” events are being held in Taber and Claresholm, says Lister. “We’ve had some guests choosing to go to Taber, once ours filled up.”
“Night to Shine” runs from 6-9 p.m. at the Lethbridge Parallel Church.
