LPS looking into attempted child abduction in west Lethbridge

Lethbridge Police are investigating two reports of attempted child abduction on the west side.

A seven year old girl told police the same man tried to grab her on two occasions. One was Monday (Oct. 14) when she was playing in her backyard along Mt. Sunburst Way in Sunridge.

She said a man attempted to grab her through a fence when she and some friends were playing in the backyard. The girl screamed and started yelling and her and her two friends went inside the home. LPS say the other two girls didn’t see the suspect or witness what happened.

When police were conducting interviews, officers learned the girl was chased by a man who tried to grab her arm as she was walking home from school last Wednesday, October 9th. This incident however, wasn’t reported to police at the time.

The girl described the suspect as a white man with dark hair and a thin build. He had a tattoo on his right wrist and and gold ring with diamond on his right hand.

The man was also wearing a black hoodie and black dress shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact LPS.
