Mt. Blakiston Park playground set for replacement

A west Lethbridge playground is getting a major upgrade.

The Mt. Blakiston Park play area was installed in 1999. Now that it has come to the end of its life cycle, it is getting an update. The new outdoor play zone will have activities designed for kids ages two through 12. Some of the main features include:

  • Climbing elements, including a new ‘ninja wall’;
  • Bridges;
  • Play panels;
  • Monkey bars;
  • A spinner;
  • Pea gravel surfacing.

The construction work is set to start Monday, with the new playground anticipated to be ready for use by May 30, weather permitting.

Fencing will be set up around the work site. Residents are asked to stay away from the area while the project is underway.
