Lethbridge man apprehended by K9 Unit, charged in relation to high risk incident

A 41 year old man is now facing charges in relation to a high risk incident from early Wednesday morning.

On Tuesday, Lethbridge Police responded to a report that a man was breaching conditions of a no-contact order stemming from a previous charge of criminal harassment.

Officers found the man at a home along the 600 block of 4th street south late Tuesday night but he barricaded himself inside to avoid arrest.

Members of the Critical Incident Response Team were deployed.

The man left the home just before 5am Wednesday and tried to run from the scene before he was apprehended by Police Service Dog Myke.

Kris Allyn Peterson is charged with breach of an undertaking and resisting a peace officer.

He’s in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
