A visioning conference is being held in Lethbridge this week as the City works on a feasibility study for an Indigenous Cultural Centre.
Partners and stakeholders from across Lethbridge and southern Alberta are taking part in the two-day event.
Lethbridge’s Indigenous Relations Advisor, Perry Stein, says the goal will be to identify a common vision and purpose of a possible future Indigenous Cultural Centre.
He says even if the centre isn’t built, the process will be a valuable part of the City’s reconciliation efforts.
Keynote speakers include Dr. Leroy Little Bear and former Piikani Chief Reg Crowshoe.
The City of Lethbridge has only approved a feasibility study at this point, and Stein says the findings will be presented back to council in a few months.
