11th Annual Meals on Wheels campaign launches in Lethbridge

The Meals on Wheels 23 Days of Christmas campaign kicked off Monday with the goal of providing 2,000 meals to those in need in Lethbridge through the holidays.

Over the past ten years, the campaign has raised over $200,000 for the Meals on Wheels Lethbridge Organization.

Ryan Miller is with Select People Solutions and Teamworks Training.

He says again, “we are encouraging individuals, groups, and businesses to make 2019 another success by becoming an Honorary Chef for the Day.”

Honorary Chefs also have the option to assist with delivery of meals on their sponsored day. A full day (Head Chef) can be sponsored for $1,000 while a half day (Sous Chef) can be sponsored for $500.

The community can also support the campaign by buying a signature Meals on Wheels Christmas card from one of the partners this year: Cupper’s Coffee and Tea, Urban Grocer, and new this year, Italian Table.

I started my radio career in 2015, shortly after graduating from Lethbridge College. I have a very strong passion for local news. Proudly born in 1994, I grew up most of my life in Sylvan Lake, AB and I've lived in the Lethbridge since 2012. I'm a below average golfer on a good day, I take as many hiking trips to Waterton as possible in the summer and I love my two cats, Outlaw and Jynx, and my dog, Maverick, more than most people I know. I look forward to providing accurate, timely news coverage in southern Alberta for plenty of years to come!
