COVID-19 Housing Supplement Program launches in Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A new COVID-19 housing program in Lethbridge is giving additional support to those financially impacted by the pandemic.

Councillor Rob Miyashiro brought the idea to council back in December which led to $500,000 in one-time funding for this year.

The Lethbridge Housing Authority will be running the new program which is open to homeowners and renters.

Applicants must be living in Lethbridge, and have been here for at least the past six months, with a gross household income at or lower than the Core Need Income Threshold (the maximum amount of income a person could make, based on family size).

  •  One bedroom – $30,000
  •  Two bedroom – $38,500
  •  Three bedroom – $43,000
  •  Four bedroom – $51,500
  •  Five bedroom – $60,000

You must also show validation of loss of income due to COVID-19 and funding can’t duplicated other government supports such as Assisted Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH), Rent Geared to Income Housing (RGI) and other Rent Subsidy Programs.
