COVID-19 protocols will be in place this fall at University of Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A of list of COVID-19 protocols at the U of L when students and staff go back to in-class learning this fall.

Starting September 1st, everyone on campus who is not fully-vaccinated or doesn’t want to disclose their status will have to complete regular rapid testing. Those who have two-doses of vaccine will be exempt and anyone who can’t be vaccinated or tested for medical reasons can request an accommodation.

Non-medical masks will also be required in all areas where physical distancing isn’t possible.

In line with provincial protocols already in place, those who have COVID-19 symptoms or have tested positive for the virus will be required to self-isolate.

The U of L says these rules will be reviewed at the end of the term and any necessary changes will be made at that time.

The same protocols will also be in place at two other post-secondary institutions in the province, including the University of Alberta and University of Calgary.

I started my radio career in 2015, shortly after graduating from Lethbridge College. I have a very strong passion for local news. Proudly born in 1994, I grew up most of my life in Sylvan Lake, AB and I've lived in the Lethbridge since 2012. I'm a below average golfer on a good day, I take as many hiking trips to Waterton as possible in the summer and I love my two cats, Outlaw and Jynx, and my dog, Maverick, more than most people I know. I look forward to providing accurate, timely news coverage in southern Alberta for plenty of years to come!
