Another successful Lethbridge Police Charity Checkstop

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Another very successful Lethbridge Police Charity Checkstop this past weekend.

The event took place Sunday, November 28 in the parking lot at the ENMAX Centre as residents lined up to bring by donations of new unwrapped toys, non-perishable food items, and money.

After it was all said and done, the Charity Checkstop brought in almost 800 gifts, over 1,200 pounds of food, and nearly $1,300 in cash and gift cards.

This year’s recipient of the checkstop is the Christmas Hope campaign. Donations for that campaign will be accepted until December 20th.

“The stories this year from families who receive gift bundles, and the donors who give so much, are both heartwarming and heartbreaking,” says Michelle Gallucci, campaign manager for Christmas Hope. “Christmas Hope isn’t just a Christmas program, it is the shared experiences of an entire community, told with such emotion and clarity, that it lifts us. We are so thankful to LPS for being a part of that experience.”
