Local Taekwon-Do club raises $17,000 & buys toys for Christmas Hope campaign

LETHBRIDGE, AB – It was a shopping frenzy Wednesday morning at the Lethbridge Toys R Us store.

The Champion Taekwon-Do Club recently held a kick-a-thon and raised a whopping $17,000.

Club Owner, Josh Dumoulin says they’ve partnered up with the Salvation Army’s Toys For Tots as part of the Christmas Hope campaign.

“We work with a lot of kids,” said an emotional Dumoulin. “This time of year can be hard for a lot of families. I think it’s something that’s always been special to us, so to be able to work with a group like this, means something to us.”

Club members pulled off over 16,000 kicks as part of that kick-a-thon.

Dumoulin says as champions and martial arts, they believe in helping make the community a better place.

Those Taekwon-Do club spent all that cash buying dozens and dozens of toys, with the help of club parents who volunteered to do the shopping.
