OTTAWA, ON – The United States has changed the rules for flying into the country.
By early next week, if you’re flying into that country, a COVID-19 viral test will be needed no later than 24 hours before you board a plane.
Before Wednesday night the window for a test was 72 hours.
The White House makes no mention of any change at land border crossings or whether Canadians will have to show a test result when driving south.
The change for air travellers is part of a slew of new public health measures the American government made to slow the spread of the Omicron variant.
