Taber man in hospital after police allege he was intentionally hit by a truck

TABER, AB – A 49 year old man from Lethbridge is facing charges after police in Taber allege he deliberately hit another person with a vehicle.

It happened Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 22 on 48th Street in that town.

Taber Police say a 52 year old man was standing beside a parked vehicle, speaking with another person when a pick-up truck drove up in his direction and hit the victim.

The driver then left the area and was eventually pulled over and arrested later by Coaldale RCMP.

The suspect’s name hasn’t been released yet as he still remained in jail waiting for a release hearing at the time this story was written.

Taber Police say the driver in facing serious charges including aggravated assault, dangerous driving causing bodily harm, and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.

The victim, meanwhile has been transferred to hospital in Calgary in serious, but stable condition.
