Lethbridge county commits $2 million to Exhibition’s agri-food hub

Lethbridge County committed to contributing $2 million to the Lethbridge and District Exhibition’s new Agri-food Hub and Trade Centre. The centre is currently under construction and is set to open in spring of 2023.

“Lethbridge County Council has focused on building relationships, strengthening our region, and fostering an environment that will encourage investment in innovation and technology,” says Reeve Tory Campbell. “With Council’s unanimous decision to make this considerable investment, we feel we have followed through on our vision of Lethbridge County being one of Canada’s most innovative rural communities.”

County council made the decision to support the new facility at its Nov. 3 meeting. It says agriculture is the backbone of the county and the trade centre will serve to host and educate the community on where food comes from and opportunities in the industry.

“We eagerly anticipate the opening of the Agri-food Hub and Trade Centre in the spring of 2023 and look forward to working with Lethbridge and District Exhibition to further strengthen our relationship and showcase all that our region has to offer,” Campbell says.
