Charges laid in connection to westside shooting

Lethbridge Police have charged a 38-year old woman and 41-year-old man in connection to a westside shooting early Monday morning.

On March 20th, just before 6:30 a.m. officers responded to a call reporting a male had been assaulted at a home along Rutgers Crescent West.

An investigation found that a 54-year-old victim had an altercation with his ex-girlfriend and her male friend, inside a home. Allegedly, after a brief verbal exchange the victim was shot by the woman and then physically assaulted by the man. The pair then fled in the victims truck, which was recovered not too far away.

Later on Monday afternoon, the two were arrested without incident and a firearm was seized.

Kristina Hatcher, 38, of Lethbridge, is being charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, assault—choking, theft of a vehicle, discharging a firearm with intent to injure, use of a firearm while committing an offence, careless use/storage of a firearm, pointing a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, mischief, robbery with a firearm, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, and uttering threats.

Robert Duane Vincent, 41, of Claresholm, is being charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, assaulting—choking, theft of a vehicle, discharge of a firearm with intent to injure, use of a firearm while committing an offence, careless use/storage of a firearm, pointing a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, knowingly possessing an unauthorized firearm, mischief, possession of a firearm contrary to an order, robbery with a firearm, and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.

The victim remains in hospital in stable condition and Hatcher and Vincent were remanded into custody. Hatcher is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, while Vincent is scheduled to appear on March 28.
