Collaborative effort underway to safely to relocate moose on the loose in Taber

Taber residents are advised that officials are working to safely relocate the moose roaming the town. According to the Taber police service, they are working with Alberta Fish and Wildlife to locate the three moose.

In a post Taber Police Chief Dr. Graham Abela says the moose are being drawn into the area “for feed.”

As of 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6th, police confirmed the trio is still within town limits and continue to roam around residential areas. Residents are reminded not to approach the animals and give them their space.

“Causing a moose stress could lead to severe health issues to the moose, or cause them to feel threatened.”

Dog owners are also being reminded to keep their dog on a leash for both the dog’s and owner’s safety.

The first reports of the moose being spotted in the town were reported on November 29th.
