Extreme cold leads to trio of watermain breaks on city’s south side

City crews responded to a trio of watermain breaks in the city’s southside, reportedly caused by the extreme cold.

According to the City of Lethbridge the breaks happening in the 400 block of 5th Street South, along with the 800 block of 6th Street and 7th Street South. Crews worked to fix two of the watermain breaks Saturday night and planned to address the third on Sunday.

According to the city, a portable water tank is available to impacted residents at 4th Avenue and 5th Street South. As well the city reportedly delivered water to residents who are expected to be without water on Sunday.
