Improvements coming to Lethbridge’s Cottonwood Park

A popular west side park is closing temporarily for some improvements.

Starting Monday (Sept. 9), the City of Lethbridge will shut down Cottonwood Park for a few weeks.

The City says a number of improvements will be made. Those include fixing up the parking lot and adding more stalls, replacing the existing narrow shale path with a wider limestone path, installing new stairs and handrails, and some new cable fencing.

There will also be a new stair-free limestone path along the existing access road alignment

The work should be finished up by the end of September. People are asked to avoid the area until everything is complete.
