Local businesses offering free water refills to help beat the heat

It has been a hot summer in southern Alberta and businesses in Lethbridge are offering some relief from the heat.

Through the community-based blueW initiative, residents can get free refills of clean tap water at local businesses.

All people need to do is look for a blueW sticker in the window of a business to find out if they are offering water refills. Residents are asked to bring their own reusable bottles.

The City of Lethbridge joined this initiative in 2017.

Participating businesses are listed on the blueW website map. Businesses interested in signing up can fill out an online form or email [email protected].

Citizens can also stay hydrated at one of the four public drinking stations across the city. Those are at Nicholas Sheran Park, Legacy Park, Henderson Lake Park and Galt Gardens.
