This Friday, Lethbridge Police and a contingent of other southern Alberta law enforcement agencies are ready to serve up a slice of pizza during the annual “Cops, Pops and Pizza” Law Enforcement Torch Run fundraiser in support of Special Olympics.
This family-friendly event will feature members of the LPS, including the K9 Unit and Tactical Team, alongside Alberta Sheriffs, RCMP, Coaldale and District Municipal Enforcement and peace officers from surrounding rural communities.
There will be police vehicles on display and, in addition to serving customers, officers will be selling stuffed animals and collecting donations for Special Olympics.
“Cops, Pops and Pizza” coincides with the Lethbridge Hurricanes’ Teddy Bear Toss. Fans headed to the game are encouraged to stop by the southside Boston Pizza for a bite to eat and to purchase their stuffy to throw on the ice.
“With both events happening on the same night, it’s a fantastic chance for the community to support two incredible causes,” says Constable Braylon Hyggen. “We’re excited to share some new stuffed animals this year and look forward to serving everyone who joins us for dinner.”
The fundraiser runs from 4-8 p.m. at the Mayor Magrath Drive South Boston Pizza location.
