October will see the return of the Lethbridge Public Library’s Teddy Bear Sleepover Oct. 24.
Children are invited to join in for a pajama story time, and say goodbye to their stuffed friend, as they stay at the library overnight.
The event runs from 2:30-3 p.m. at the Main Branch.
Communications Coordinator Jessica Quarterman said the library has put on the event a few times. “It’s always well-received.”
Overnight, the stuffed animals get up to some pretty crazy antics, Quarterman noted.
“We document that. Then those young readers get to come back the next day and see how their bears did over the night,” she added.
October is also Membership Month at the library.
Whether someone wants to learn something new, look for a book, browse new entertainment options, or connect with others, a library card makes those opportunities possible.
“Library Membership Month is the perfect time to discover everything your library has to offer,” said CEO Terra Plato. “A library membership is free and opens the door to an incredible range of resources and services. We welcome new members to join the Library and experience the many ways a library card can inform, inspire, and connect you.”
Throughout the month, anyone who signs up for a library card or renews an existing membership at one of the branches will be eligible to choose a limited-edition gift, while supplies last.
To sign up for a library card, visit any branch of the Library, or visit online at lethlib.ca/join.
